Trinity Church has three different services.
Beach Site: 9am
Town Center: 10:30am
Beach Site: 11:15am
9am Service @ the beach site:
1st Sunday of the month:
Kids worship in the adult service with families for the first part of the service. After about 15 minutes, kids will be prayed for and dismissed. We'll all head upstairs to watch a video that introduces our Biblical focus for that month and then kids will head off to their small groups.
2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays:
Before even heading into the sanctuary, parents sign their children into the chapel for our Large Group time. After Large Group, children head upstairs and meet with their Small Groups.
2nd Hour:
Whenever there is Adult Sunday School, SHRED offers a 2nd Hour for the kids. We have snack, watch a 10-minute curriculum related video, and then play games that reinforce the Bible Story from that Sunday.
11:15 Service @ the beach site:
SHRED offers children's church at the 11:15 service when we have 3 or more children present. We will call the kids out after the first few songs. When we are upstairs, the kids will learn about a specific Bible Story through a video, games, and crafts.
10:30 Service @ the town center site (The Westin):
This is our newest service and we are enjoying the opportunity to reach even more children in the Virginia Beach area! Kids worship the Lord through song with their families for the first portion of the service. After about 15 minutes, children are called forward, prayed for, and then sent off to children's church. There, the kids learn about a specific Bible Story. We use a large group, small group format.
So what happens during Large Group?
Large Group is designed to engage children in worship. Music, prayer, and an innovative approach to the Bible story are always a part of this interactive time.
So what happens during Small Group?
Small Group is designed to help kids understand how the day's topic applies to them. They'll discuss real-life experiences, interact with a close-knit group of peers, and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles. Life-application and memory-verse activities, as well as prayer, are always a part of this hands-on time.
